Employment Opportunity/Broadband Program Manager

Northern Maine Development Commission is looking for a Broadband Program Manager.

NMDC is focused on expanding broadband access and supporting communities in closing gaps in digital skills. We’re looking for a Broadband Program Manager to lead regional broadband planning efforts and develop programs that ensure all individuals have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

Position Overview:
The Broadband Program Manager will manage broadband planning initiatives, convene community and regional partners, and oversee the implementation of digital skills programs. This role requires experience in broadband expansion, coalition-building, and program management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional broadband planning efforts to expand reliable internet access.
  • Convene and coordinate a broad alliance of local partners, including municipalities, non-profits, and businesses.
  • Align local, regional, and state-level stakeholders for efficient program execution.
  • Oversee digital skills programs to help communities better utilize internet resources.
  • Engage with organizations like the Maine Broadband Coalition to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Secure funding through grants and partnerships.
  • Track program progress and communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Advocate for broadband priorities in Aroostook County.
  • Attended Quarterly meetings with Maine Connectivity Authority for program guidance

Qualifications:

  • Experience in broadband planning, community-driven broadband initiatives, or digital skills programming.
  • Ability to build and engage a diverse coalition of stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • If new to the field, the ability to quickly prioritize broadband in organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the Maine Broadband Coalition and Maine Connectivity Authority.
  • Experience in public policy, community development, or related fields.
