Job Description:

 The President will work with business and community leaders to help plan and coordinate projects aimed at making a lasting impact on economic growth and development in northern Maine. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills, professional background in business and/or community leadership, and the ability to serve as positive representative for the organization in both internal and public settings.  As the President, you will play a vital role in advancing and ensuring the economic survival and growth of Aroostook County, Maine.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the planning and coordination of projects that embody the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Provide leadership and direction to partners and board members, ensuring that day-to-day operations remain well-coordinated and on schedule.
  • Cultivate strong and transparent working relationships to ensure open communication about organizational resources and goals.
  • Establish a strong media presence to increase public awareness of the organization and its projects.
  • Craft new strategies to expand and improve fundraising efforts.
  • Manage cash flow and assist the organization’s Executive Committee with budget-planning.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business and/or communications.  MBA, MPA, or related advanced degree strongly preferred.  
  • Board development, fundraising, marketing/branding and fiscal management experience.
  • Prior background with organizations specializing in economic growth and/or community development preferred.
